How is my due date calculated?

From your last period we add 280 days (40 weeks), adjusted for your cycle length. From conception or IVF transfer we count forward to a 40-week pregnancy.

How accurate is it?

It's an estimate. Only about 1 in 20 babies arrive on their exact due date — most arrive within two weeks either side. An early ultrasound gives the most accurate date.
